what the ... where are all my buttons on this 'new post' window? does anyone else just have the spell check, the image and the preview? hm ...

well, first day of class and i am waiting for my nine o'clock history of moder psychology class ... it's with my old psychology research and statistics professor ... you know, the one ... where the hell is my hyperlink button?!

anyway, i have my first organic chemistry class after this one and then i am done for the day. i have an appointment at 2:30 pm with this man from st. austin's and then i am done for the day. i am really sleepy already.

i went on a really long trip yesterday that i suppose i have to blog about ... me and jordan left austin yesterday at 9 am and went to my storage room to take a picture of that desk that i am supposed to sell. then we started our trip to houston. we made it to houston (and my mom's school) by 12 pm with hardly any road altercations and met my mom. i had to drop off a couple of things that i didn't want in my apartment and get a few things that i found out i needed ... i also got to see my younger cousin katherine during her lunch break ... she is a freshman at the school. then we had to leave to drive to daisetta to meet with jordan's mom. we first stopped at jax hamburgers in liberty and had lunch which was delicious ... i had a baked potato with butter, sour cream, cajun chicken and roasted onions. it was great. then we drove to jordan's house to look at the basketball court that he painted and then to his mom's school. she teaches 1st grade and the little kids are really cute. there is a boy named chris in the class who looks mixed but really isn't and you could tell that he was really excited about seeing jordan because it made him feel special that he knew who one of the visitors were when the other kids were clueless ... he played in the 'dramatic play' area of the class room and kept trying to make fun of jordan ... " jordan, here is your baby doll!" anyway, we stayed for 30 minutes (each mom had 30 minutes so we could keep on schedule) and then we drove out to jordan's oral surgeon appointment in humble. on the way we picked up a giant sno-cone which was pretty good fo a sno-cone. after the oral surgeon, we drove back to houston to goto the astros game. it was not really eventful except we got free popcorn and cookies ... and jordan ran into this guy named batty bob who apparently used to make jordan cheer with him when jordan was little. he is dressed all crazy and is really well known. it was pretty cool. batty bob was pretty intense. he talked about old lovers and about how one of them tried to kill him ... it was interesting.

we left the game at 9 pm so that we could get back to austin before midnight.

i just got kobe  back from the humane society and i am not completely sure that he had any surgery at all. he is more active than before and it does not look like he's been shaved. hmm ... did i get bamboozled? did they take my rabbit for the day just to play with him? they did give him a nail trimming and the nurse said that he never met a nicer bunny. apparently kobe was really sweet and not scratchy. he always seems more pleasant to strangers.

this morning after dropping him off i went to hobby lobby and picked up some craft materials. i got buttons galore! they are really cute.

i still can't find my camera wire that connects to my computer so all pictures will have to wait.

i went to the chevy freedom of texas thing with jordan and his brother and sister yesterday. but before we went to the park, we went to the downtown hilton and snuck into their pool area. we swam for a couple of hours. it was really fun. jordan gives fun rides and i played my first game of chicken. it was scary because i hate having my face go under water.

anyway ... jordan has been telling lauren that she should start writing pretend magazine articles so that she can practice ... i think he is trying to get her into something that may lead to a career. so, lauren asked me to come up with some article ideas for her ... i think that they are aiming for seventeen magazine type articles ...

so lauren, here are some ideas ... some will need research on your part and i think it would be good to practice taking pictures that are vibrant and interesting that could be included with the article ... maybe even layout the whole article with the article, pictures, captions, quotes and all the page designs ...

- 10 ways to spruce up your room with items under $10.
- clever teen enterprises.
- upcoming fall fashions.
- nutritional problems concerning teens.
- genocide in uganda and it's connection to u.s. teens.

i don't know if that's what you were looking for ... but, i think most magazines are doing more than just fashion and make-up nowadays ... GET YOUR STORY ON MY DESK MONDAY AT NINE! (haha ... just kidding)

anyway ... after we went swimming,we went to mcdonald's to get some lunch and then we drive to the parking garage and walked to the park. it was kind of muddy because it was raining in the morning but it wasn't that bad. when we got to the park, we walked the entire park area and then settled on watching the beach volleyball tournament. lauren paolini from the ut volleyball team was there and her partner was another longhorn volleyball player ... heather kisner. they made it to the finals but lost to a pair of brazilian girls who were representing houston ... it was really fun watching volleyball again. it's my favorite sport to watch.

after the volleyball we went to find somewhere to lay out the blanket that we brought. we first choose a place on the hill but it was too steep and we kept on sliding. so, we moved. but on our way down me and jordan both slipped ... jordan started it. i didn't hit the round and caught myself but jordan slammed him tail bone into the ground ... his poor tushy. anyway, jen and aaron and my mom came later and watched the fireworks with us. they were really pretty and the music was pretty good ... they played feist which was nice.

after the fireworks we left and waited in the parking garage for 45 minutes and had driving wars ... then we went to katz's and house of pies but it was too crowded in both places and the wait for both were over an hour ... we ended up eating at whataburger which had no wait and was delicious.

all in all, a good fourth of july.

weird weekend ...

me, jordan and his little sister, lauren, went to memorial city mall this past weekend and while we were in XXI, this girl fell/had a seizure right in front of us. she chipped her front tooth on the counter and busted her lip. she bled EVERYWHERE. it was so shocking that we had to leave. but, not until i accidentally put my arm in a puddle of her blood and had to go wash my arm in the bathroom in the food court where some woman waiting to wash her hands says to her friend, "what is wrong with that girl? why is she washing her arm?" she was very impatient.

after that, jordan and i went to ikea for a meatball lunch while lauren ate a hot dog from the downstairs food area. then we went to gallery furniture where we got free ice cream and jordan got a basketball and a sweatshirt that is really ugly. then we went to the galleria to look for a wallet ... i didn't find one ... then we went to wish to try and find something to spend my stupid wish gift certificate on ... didn't find anything. then we went to academy where jordan bought nothing ... then house of pies, borders, and whole foods.

i got cute nested snack boxes at borders and i got a sheet of stickers. i also got jordan monster's ball ...

oh, on the way to house of pies, this woman honked at me and a driving war ensued ... i think i won.

didn't do anything on sunday except take my test ... it was ok ... not great. then i sat at home and ordered stuff online from e.l.f. which is the best online store EVER. then i cleaned my room because jennifer came to visit. she is still here ... probably sleeping ... lucky duck.

not much of a post today. mostly elipses but i'm not really in the mood to blog. i have a ton of chapters to study. also, i am really tired and i am already done with all my lab work for the day.

still waiting for my avon package and now i am waiting for my e.l.f. package!

i forgot to blog about my drive home from hcc on saturday. all the exits on the highway that i needed were closed and i was forced to take the exit after all the ones that i knew how to get home from ... you would think that taking a u-turn and just backtracking would suffice but, alas, all the u-turns and turning lanes were closed because of construction. so, i had to only take left turns and after that, only rights ... it sucked. i ended up lost which always happens to me and i somehow found a street that i recognized. so, i called my mom to try and get directions and it was ok ... except that neither of us knew that i was on the north side of houston instead of the south side where i needed to be. eventually, i was in jersey city (i think) and i finally told my mom that i had to turn around. well, i ended up turning around and finding the feeder to beltway 8 that would lead straight to my house and so we hung up and i drove solo. but, then i got back to the original place where i got lost to start with ... the place where you can only turn left ... anyway, i had to stop at a sonic and i called my mom again except her line was busy (she left the phone off the hook) and so i sat there ... annoyed at myself ... i then remembered that i had a map in the trunk of my car and i ended up finding a way around all the construction.

it took me 2 hours to get home from hcc when it only took me 10 minutes to drive there ... this made me really mad about myself and restarted all the "i can't do anything right" thing that i am now dealing with.

another day, another early morning. i never truly realized how nice it is to be driven around. i had to drive myself to galveston for work this morning and i was sleepy as hell. i wasn't swerving but i was struggling to be attentive. anyway, i can tell that i'm going to fall asleep at my desk today. i can just feel it. i hate sleepy days because it's so much more work to look like your busy and working when your eyes are droopy and you keep bobbing your head.

so ... nothing happening yet since it is still early and nobody will be in the lab until past nine ... but, the good news is that i had chipotle last night and it was delicious and better yet, i have left overs for lunch today.

yay me!

addendum to past blogs:

i have recently blogged about why i hate driving but tonight i have found another grievance that i never even thought possible ... balls bouncing in the road. i just don't get how a driver can drive and throw four to five basketballs and soccer balls out of the passenger window ... funnily, all the balls bounced in my lane and i had to swerve to miss them. grrr ...

also, i have angered some people due to my recent list because they were not explicitly mentioned. let me explain. my old list had several items pertaining to my brother-in-law, aaron. i noted how i liked him from the first time that we met and how jenny wanted to tell me about their engagement but i thought that they just *ahem* and so i refused to listen ... i also talked about the fact that i knew that they would get married years before he actually asked and that i had found a new brother ... all those things still stand but i didn't want to repeat all that stuff because i didn't want to bore my humble readership ... i will say however that aaron has turned out to be a great older brother. last time he came to visit me, he built me a hammie tandem runner and he took me to dog almighty for hot dogs and chili pie ... of course jenny was there too ... also aaron and jenny were the givers of the awesome grenade salt and pepper shakers.

also, i should mention some other people since apparently i forgot some key players in my life ... jordan wanted me to mention him explicitly ... he is one of two in number 54 ... my bff stacey player number 2 ... she is the hot glue to my hot glue gun ... haha ... we are crafty together. i should also clarify that family does not count in number 54 and the word 'acquaintances' is NOT a four letter word ... it just means that i would not cry in front of you and at the same time i would not necessarily want to get lost with you and only you in a strange city ...

let me just preface this by saying that i hate driving and i have been spoiled and rarely drive in austin or houston. after today's driving adventures, i now have a list of complaints concerning my fellow drivers that explains why i avoid driving at all costs ...

- driving in one lane while having a whole tire in the next lane
- lane switches that take more than 30 seconds
- honking at other drivers when you are at fault
- having no lights on even when it is dark out and drizzling
- having a flat but refusing to pull over but instead driving 5 mph on it
- having double blinkers on while driving at least 20 miles over the speed limit

the driver of a white 2007 toyota camry with the license plate Y74 NTX is on my list of irritating drivers ...

hammie update:

the hammies are looking great despite the bloody fiasco. zuzu is now bigger than petri and is a lot more outgoing. she enjoys sleeping outside the hammie igloo on her back! also she loves kix sooo much that once she gets her furry little paws on a morsel, she won't let go even if i raise her off the hammie cage floor ... petri is feisty and likes to pick on zuzu for her half eaten kix since most of the time she is too shy to get a kix from my hand herself. zuzu is a victim of petri's attacks at least once a day ... poor zuzu
