ok so i have been kind of busy and at the moment i am blogging with jordan's iphone and it is slow going. yesterday jordan donated plasma for some extra cash and then we went to home depot to pick up a bunch of building materials for kobe's new and improved giant cage. it is going to 3x3x3 of those storage cubes. it will definitely satisfy jen's animal requirements. the bad thing is that i had to move all my things that i already set up. i am still not done rearranging things. after home depot we went to a near by cheddar's so that jordan could fill out an application. we did a lot yesterday. both me and kobe are going a little stir crazy because our habitats are still not quite right. he has started to make huge messes. he tries to get his little mouth around anything near his cage and tears it to shreds. it is annoying waking up to a huge mess.
today me and jordan are on a money making adventure. we signed up to do a 30 minute experiment for some lady on campus. i am sitting at the library right now waiting for my turn ... it pays a $50 amazon.com gift card for each of us and jordan said that i could use both of them for buying my textbooks. after this, we are going to the apple store to get my laptop checked out because i think there maybe a virus ... then we are going to be extras for a show on nbc. we are playing high school football fans on friday night lights. i think we will each get $56. we are also going to be extras tomorrow night.
i put my desk on craigslist.org and have been getting really weird replies. all the people have terrible english and want to pay me in cashier checks. i read that those checks are easily forged and often cancelled. i am apprehensive about selling. i have to sell it within the week.
my books cost over $300 this semester. i have two books that are over $100. oh i also sold two books that i don't need. actually only one had been sold and the other one is still on the market. i know i fought with jordan about selling books but i don't have the room for them and i need the money for new books.
my apartment is now pretty cool and it doesn't feel like a sauna so that is great. the carbon monoxide hasn't been worrying me and all the plumbing is better. i just need to finish setting up and then the yarbroughs (jen and aaron) can visit their new summer home.

ugh sorry about the lull but i have no internet at my new apartment ... i am at the gym right now waiting for jordan so i can blog a little.
lemme just update you on my most recent annoying thing ... i tried to save some money by buying my books on amazon.com instead of the co-op and it kind of worked. my two of my books are still over $100 each. but, me and jordan found this opportunity to earn two $50 amazon.com gift cards which he said he would let me use. so, i went on amazon.com to order books and i ordered one of the $100 books because it was cheaper than the co-op and then ordered the other $100 book at the inline co-op store because it was cheaper there ... then i realized after placing my order that i hadn't used the gift cards at all ... ugh. so, i emailed the seller and asked to cancel the order. hopefully he is cool about it. i just have to order it again on thursday when i get the gift cards. i am so annoyed at myself. now that's another thing that i have to make sure i didn't get charged for ... if he lets me cancel.
so, my new apartment ... it sucks balls. when i moved in on saturday, the leasing agent said that the apartment was "absolutely ready" but it wasn't.
here's a list of things that is/was wrong with my apartment ...
- kitchen faucet is not fully installed
- kitchen faucet aerator is clogged
- bathroom sink is draining slow
- shower is not draining at all
- hole in bathroom wall next to sink
- multiple stains on carpet
- weird wire box is cracked and falling off
- toilet's water tank has a top that doesn't fit
- kitchen cabinets do not close
- air conditioning is not working
- gas leak from gas stove
i got the kitchen faucet unclogged and the sink and shower draining semi-well. essentially i didn't have any water until last night. it is always around 80 degrees in my apartment and i am constantly afraid of carbon monoxide poisoning.
i should probably tell the gas leak story for aaron and jen since they weren't there ... i moved in on saturday and they said the apartment was ready ... so when we walked into the apartment me, my mom and my dad all smelled gas ... they thought that it was because the apartment had been closed off for so long ... well, i stayed in apartment cleaning and organizing while they went to pick up the moving truck and when they came back, i told them that the smell didn't go away ... we just ignored it. finally after a whole day of moving and setting up, we went to bed. in the middle of the night, me and my dad (my mom secretly went to walmart to get a carbon monoxide detector) woke up with monster headaches and decided it was time to call emergency maintenance ... my mom came back just before i called ... so, the guy came out to the apartment and figured he just had to light the pilot light ... that was all. the stove is still warm all the time and the office people said it was normal but i checked jordan's stove and it is very cool to the touch when it is not in use.
i am going to die in this apartment ...
